What is Coaching

Coaching is about change and action. The core purpose of coaching is to increase self-awareness, to make choices explicit, and to close the gap between your potential and how things are currently.

You’ve always gone the same route so that pathway is well-worn and easy to go down, but in coaching you build new pathways – routes that take you to a better place, and the more you go down them, the easier it becomes.

Coaching is a Partnership

Coaching is a collaborative process helping you in your development towards an agreed focus or goal. So coaching is really about you and your personal growth and development. It is about the questions and issues that you are dealing with, the change you want to work towards, the blockages you want overcome, and the goals you want to reach.

As coach I work together with you in a partnership that is equal, empathetic, and non-judgemental. I provide guidance, perspective, new skills and tools, to empower your change and pathway to a rich, full and meaningful life.

What to Expect

The coaching process starts with an initial intake conversation. In this conversation we explore and identify the questions/issues you want to address and goals you want to reach. In each session we work on your questions and goals using a variety of methods including guided questions, learning new skills, and exercises. There will always be practical outcomes and often exercises which you can also practice at home between sessions.

Coaching Trajectory

In your coaching trajectory we will work together to help you answer three basic questions to find your pathway forward to your goals:

  • where am I now,

  • where do I want to be, and

  • how do I get there?
